Rosarito is a municipality located in the North of Baja California, Mexico. Surrounded from north to west by Tijuana city, this place keeps a distinctive border type of feel all over the entire region. It became an independent municipality in 1995, although its tourist infrastructure has represented great earnings. The first hotels of the zone date from 1925 and they currently contribute with the third part of the municipality’s total income. The commerce, services and tourist activities make it a special place for vacations.
Tourism is, without a doubt, the center of attraction of the municipality’s economic activities, with its long and beautiful coastline, its sandy beaches and cliffs, weather, modern hotels, first-class restaurants, tourist developments as in any other big city, Mexican handcrafts, festivals, civic, historical and religious commemorations.
In these beaches, Fox Studios shot “Titanic”. This and The Calafia Historical and Cultural Center have strengthen tourism in the South, in Region del Descanso.
